New Phone, same problem

So Katie and I went to Cheyenne this weekend, and activated my new phone.  The weather on the highway was so nasty we opted to go and visit Mo in FoCo.  While we were there I picked up a quarter of 90 Shilling, yummy.  We had lot of fun down there, some of us probably had too much fun, myself.  We picked up some beer and went back to Mo's house after dinner and well, I recall going 1 and 3.   Meanwhile, by the end of the night I apparently got a little too drunk and puked on my clothes and in Mo's toilet.  After that Katie stripped me and washed my clothes.  The only problem, she washed my cell phone still in my pants.  My nice new phone is now broken.  I can still make phone calls, but can't use the rest of the phone.   We're home now, after 7 hours of driving from FoCo to RKS, what would normally be a 3.5 hour trip.  Dinner's on its way, until later.

Success!

So approximately 3 or 4 days ago my Xbox and my desktop computer ceased talking.  The Xbox could not access my media on my desktop.  When I went to my desktop, I was met with error boxes.  The darn thing just would not cooperate.  After so attempts to fix the problem, and some software removal, I opted to search the internet.  The first hunt turned up nothing, but the second search turned up gold.  After going into my /users/[username]/AppData/Microsoft/Media Player folder, I deleted all the files, and restarted Windows Media Player.  Success!  The system let me go back to enjoying the entertainment I enjoy.

In addition to fixing my Xbox today, I fixed my pickup.  Recently I was having problems with what I thought was the starter combined with a faulty battery terminal.  Today I put a fresh, new battery terminal on my power cable for the pickup, took the loosening of three bolts and I was finished.  Voila! Now the truck doesn't need coaxing to start up, in fact its starts up better than it had in some time.  Now if only I would clean the thing out... another time maybe.

Anyway, now time to enjoy the fruits of my labor.  I hear the new Terminator series is quite impressive.

Working to get setup

First load 004It is slow here in the shop again.  The good news though, we are starting to get more activity.  I've received shipment of 7 palettes of equipment from The Crosby Group so far, with more to come.  This stuff is enormous.   The clamp over there weighs enough to act as a dumb bell.  I'm expecting to receive more crates of much larger items sometime this next week. While inventory is rolling in, so are orders for things we had bid out last month. Activity at last.

Meanwhile, saw the latest from Apple.  Looks pretty cool, but sad part, it is still a Mac.  The new notebook has some cool new features, most importantly the fact that it is less than an inch thick.  The battery life, I would love to have on my current notebook.  Once again the hiccup is still the Mac operating system.  As long as Steve Jobs keeps everything inside the apple, I will never buy an Apple.

I hope all is going well with everyone.  For now I'll continue to put updates to this blog up. Until another day.

Drunkin, sick, haze...

So I'm definitely getting sick now.  Just finished off the last of my beer supply, and I still have a headache, congested, and sore throat.  With any luck it will pass quick.

Katie's once again stuck out in the oilfield waiting on the other guy.  She's camping at the Shell camp in Pinedale, basically she's in a dormitory for oilfield workers.  She's had more sleep in the past 3 weeks than I've had 3 months. She returned from 10 weeks of logging school in Odessa, TX, took a week off and wasn't scheduled for another week, that ended a week ago. Now she's sitting and waiting in Pinedale.

While I get sick here, she's getting sick there too.  With any luck we'll come around quick.

Anyway, I'll talk more later I'm sure, right now I'm going to enjoy a few episodes of M*A*S*H before I go to bed.

First blog entry, we'll see what happens from here.

Welcome to my new weblog.  For the moment this is more of a trial rather than a stick with sort of thing.

Over the next month I'll give this a try, call it a new years resolution if you will.  At the moment work is slow enough that I've been experimenting with a number of programs and web sites.  As I prefer the Microsoft to Google, something about that aesthetics, I've chosen to give Live Spaces a try.  Honestly, it's not just about the aesthetics, it also has to do with how well everything MS seems to work together these days.  All my electronics can be traced back to my desktop PC running Vista.  In my living room these days I have a Xbox 360 for gaming, dvds, and then its connected to the desktop via Media Center Extender and Media Server.  I have satellite TV, but tend to either watch DVDs or stream video off of my desktop.  On the road, I have a Zune, which talks to my 360 as well as my desktop.  Additionally, I have an old Dell Axim x50v PDA, which over the next week I will work on interlinking with all my email and calendars and so forth.

At work here, I'm slowly beginning to organize my desk.  While I share a desktop computer with my supervisor, I still have my good old laptop, allowing me to have some space to myself.  Most annoying however, is all the phone calls that come in every day, none of which for me or my office.  Have to love receiving upwards of 5 phone calls a day, all of which are soliciting business, of which most are taped recordings.  Starting today, I'm going to keep a count/log of all the phone calls, and we'll see how many are really for the office.  In fact, I just got off the phone a moment ago with a company selling payroll services, the sad part is, they already do our payroll.

Anyway, I better get back to work now, lots to do, so little time............. yea.
